The full-body workout couples cardio with toning exercises as the cycling component challenges your cardiovascular system. Meanwhile, the toning exercises will work the legs, glutes, core, arms, and shoulders to help you get firm all over.

This indoor cycling routine can blast and burn up to 700 calories in 45minutes. “Turn your workout into a cardio party,” says Rique Uresti, a master instructor at New York’s acclaimed Soul Cycle studio.

Move over Zumba! There’s another dance-based workout that has all the celebs buzzing. The Bar Method is a complete one-hour workout that efficiently changes student’s bodies. It works by targeting problem areas, improving posture, safely strengthening, and slimming down muscles.

This routine puts a special focus on giving every student personal support to help them achieve their individual goals. The routine also mixes up ballet moves with core conditioning, yoga, Pilates, and weight training. It could really be a good option to dance your way to a longer, leaner, tighter—and more graceful—body.

“The Bar Method is a low-impact, highly effective way of working your muscles that makes them lean and long,” says Liza MacFadden, a fitness instructor at Studio Fusion in Huntingdon Beach, California.

According to her, these workouts typically include 10 minutes of the upper body, 15 minutes of thigh exercises, 15 minutes of feet work, and 15 minutes of core exercises.

The results of bar workout dance classes are amazing. Frequent participants report that they’ve lost weight, have better posture, and have increased stamina and energy. Other popular ballet-inspired barre workouts include Physique 57, Cardio Barre, and Barre 3.

For one, Shakira has been into belly dancing since the age of 4. As a result, she has developed her own Latino variation of this exotic Middle Eastern tradition. “It’s something that was practically given to me at birth,” she said in an interview with a German magazine ‘Fit for Fun.’

But the Colombian singer/songwriter is not the only A-lister who fell in love with this workout. Veteran actress Catherine Zeta-Jones likewise did cut a class act with her hypnotic swivels in the 1990 movie, 1001 Arabian Nights.

Well, it’s actually not as tough as you think it is. Belly dancers aren’t just wiggling and jiggling their hips. Rather, they’re getting an ab workout that sculpts almost every single muscle in their core. The routine also hits hard-to-target, deep transverse abdominals. Gentle on the joints, it promises core balance, toned abs, improved flexibility and posture. Additionally, one gets better digestion, less back pain, and reduces menstrual cramps.
