Benetti Successfully Launches FB277, Its Biggest Yacht Till Date
FB277 Launch
Benetti has broken the record for the construction of the largest yacht to ever be built in Italy following its recent launch of FB277 from the Livorno shipyard. The in-house design team of Benetti designed the 351-footer yacht which comes with a vertical bow as well as a long and slender profile that has an amazing superstructure which gives it the massive size it has. The beam of the yacht reportedly spans 50ft at certain points.
The FB277 happens to be the 3rd gigayacht that is above 300ft to be built at this yard. The biggest Benetti in the world gets its power from a propulsion system which is diesel-electric, and that contributed to giving the yacht an 18.5 knots top speed.
Features Of The Gigayacht
As expected, the FB277 comes with the frills anyone would naturally expect a vessel of its size to possess, and that includes a big swimming pool located on its sundeck. The yacht also has a spa that has hammam down and also a gym and massage room. On its foredeck is also a helipad.
The in-house design team of Benetti worked on both the interior and exterior. They placed the full beam master suite on the deck’s upper wheelhouse. That strategic location affords the respective owners both privacy as well as a magnificent view of the water. The apartment also has matching balconies on both sides, huge male and female dressing rooms and a massive interconnected bathroom that can rightly be described as a mini spa.
There are 7 VIP cabins that all come with big ensuites on the yacht’s main deck which is before its palatial saloon as well as the formal dining area. A spiral stairway joins the decks, and the staircase visibly has a tall atrium at all levels.
The upper deck has a smaller and apparently a saloon built to be more intimate. It has its private cinema as well as a grand piano that would aid relaxing at the end of each day on water.
Supervision Of Construction
Through the Imperial Yachts, the FB277 would be put up for charter after its delivery this next summer. That is definitely some good news for those who are armchair sailors. That has never been heard of in the gigayacht sphere. However, Benetti always succeeds at reinventing yachting rules. The owner was represented all through the course of the building process by Imperial, and they also supervised the yacht’s production.
According to the Chief Executive Officer of Benetti, Franco Fusignani, the yacht, in reality, is more impressive and beautiful than the team could have ever imagined. Fusignani after the yacht’s launch said they had recognized the very first major step that would help in increasing the strength of the brand to make available the same standard of outstanding and high-end vessels the company is popular for in the gigayacht sector. He added that the FB277 had earned the company a spot and it is now known for the construction of yachts that are more than 330 feet.
Investment In Project
According to reports, the company has invested over $17 million in infrastructure so that it could construct the three gigayachts. Not only did it erecting new and high- flying buildings, it also went ahead to hire a designated team made up of experts so it could complete these projects which were technically challenging.
Fusignani mentioned that the company is the only Italian private shipyard and also one of the few globally with the ability to construct yachts that are longer than 265 feet. Fusignani emphasized that it was a major milestone.
