Bus driver picks up kids early in the morning as usual – then parents discover kids aren’t at school

Sometimes, unexpected occurrences can provide an opportunity for a regular person to become a hero. Such was the case of Wayne Price who, in the face of adversity, rose up to the occasion and went beyond what his duties called for. This is a story about thoughtfulness, generosity, and kindness, and how anyone can make a difference in someone else’s life. Keep reading if you want to find out more about this extraordinary day in which Wayne Price showed everyone that you don’t need to wear a cape to be someone’s hero.

Just your regular school bus driver

Wayne Price was just another regular school bus driver in Montevallo, Alabama. But before he started doing this job in 2013, he originally had a full-time job at the ministry. During that time, he worked with teenagers and college students. Through his stint in the ministry, he has developed an appreciation for people of all ages. Price was approached by one of his friends, who used to be a principal, and told him about the job—which he thought would be perfect for Wayne. He instantly loved the idea of working with young people and decided to accept the offer.

Quickly “falls in love” with the children

It did not take a long time for Price to “fall in love” with the children. He had lots of experience being around kids for many years. He was trying to become a role model for them and realized that he actually did not have to give them a big speech every morning in order to do so. He would get up every morning and get ready to go on duty with a big smile on his face. Just giving these kids kind words occasionally was enough to see a positive effect on them.

Teaching values to the kids

Price was not just simply a bus driver. Everyone who knows him could tell you how caring and loving he is. He has been described as a man of faith. Ever since he started working for Montevallo Elementary School in 2013, he has turned his school bus into another school class. However, his way of teaching was very different from the usual lessons these kids have in their classrooms. The way he teaches America’s young promising future generations was by setting an example; responding to struggles and frustrations with integrity.
