These Stars UNBELIEVABLY Earned More Money Than Their Celebrity Parents
The entertainment industry is filled to the brim with kids following in their parents’ footsteps. It’s not something that the parents don’t like – most would want their offspring to do well in life, be successful in their chosen field, or just be happy with what they’re doing.
Sometimes, however, the children prove to be more victorious than their moms or dads, who had carved a name for themselves long before the young ones came to the spotlight. Here are some of those who earned more than their celebrity parents:
Miley Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus
Long before Miley Cyrus became a household name, her dad Billy Ray Cyrus, who has an estimated net worth of $20 million, already dominated the music industry way back in the ‘90s. He was one of the big names at the time, with his mullet and chart-topping hit “Achy Breaky Heart” that sat for 17 weeks as the top country music single in 1992. The album “Some Gave All” reportedly sold 9 million copies!
Miley, meanwhile, rose to stardom after starring in Disney Channel’s “Hannah Montana” alongside her father who also played the part to the titular character in the series. In the show, she reportedly made $15,000 per episode. Thirteen years after that stint, the songstress is now worth a whopping $160 million.
Kylie Jenner and Kris Jenner
This is one of the more obvious. In 2018, Kylie Jenner became the youngest self-made billionaire, ousting Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg from the top spot, who earned the title when he was just 23. The makeup maven is by far richer than Kris, oftentimes referred to as the clan’s momager, who is one of the driving force behind the success of the E! reality show “Keeping up with the Kardashians.”
Kris got her moniker for taking care of the dealings of her kids, having a cut of 10 percent of the earnings. Because of this, her reported net worth is $90 million, which was a far cry from her youngest daughter. The 21-year-old, meanwhile, amassed fortunes from her cosmetics empire that is still reigning supreme until this day.
Ben Stiller and Jerry Stiller
In the 1970s, people came to love Jerry Stiller, a wise and witty comedian, who teamed up with Anne Meara for the ultimate comedy duo. He was probably best known for playing Frank Costanza in the sitcom “Seinfeld,” which was said to have the highest-paid cast during the time. After which, he returned to TV for “King of Queens,” where he took on another father role. He has an estimated net worth of $12.5 million.
Ben Stiller literally took the same path as his parents when he also excelled in making people laugh. He has starred in numerous films like “Meet the Parents” and “Zoolander,” which got him a $120-million net worth, almost 10 times of his dad’s.
