We all wonder where former presidents and first ladies go after leaving the White House. After serving as the first lady and secretary of state of the United States, Hillary Clinton owns a home in Washington DC; the Whitehaven mansion. However, her primary residence is in Chappaqua, New York.
She told the Architectural Digest how she had an emotional reaction when she first saw the residence. It reminded her of old-time London and Newyork homes, and it had some of the most striking gardens that she had ever seen. She bought the house in 2000 for $2.85 million from Joseph W. Henderson.
