Billie Lourd Gives Touching Tribute To Late Mother Carrie Fisher

One of the greatest things about being part of the entertainment industry is that when you die, you will a certain legacy behind and more people will surely miss you. Most especially if you become a part of a solid fandom for so many years. This is exactly what happened to the late Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher, who unfortunately died about two years ago. In honor of her mother, her daughter thought it would be great to pay her a special tribute on the 2nd death anniversary this year.

🎏🅾️®️ ♏️🅾️♏️🅱️🌱It has been two years since my Momby’s death and I still don’t know what the “right” thing to do on a death anniversary is (I’m sure a lot of you feel the same way about your loved ones). So I decided to do something a little vulnerable for me, but something we both loved to do together – sing. This is the piano her father gave her and this was one of her favorite songs. And as the song says, we must “keep on moving”. I’ve found that what keeps me moving is doing things that make me happy, working hard on the things that I’m passionate about and surrounding myself with people I love and making them smile. I hope this encourages anyone feeling a little low or lost to “keep on moving”. As my Momby once said, “take your broken heart and turn it into art” – whatever that art may be for you. ❤️

The Tribute

The entire Star Wars fandom surely longs for Princess Leia, but no one misses her like her real-life daughter Billie Lourd. In fact, to commemorate the late actress Carrie Fisher, she played a heartfelt rendition of the song “These Days”. This is reportedly from the 1967 solo album named Chelsea Girl, that was written by Jason Browne. It was last Thursday when Lourd posted her cover on her Instagram account, which was also the day her mother died two years ago.

On the caption, she said that it has been two years since her mother passed, but she still hasn’t got a clue about what exactly is the right thing to do during its anniversary. She also said that this must be something that almost everyone feels with their loved ones who already passed.

She said that her decision of doing something like this is really making her feel vulnerable, but at the same time, she also feels as if it is the right thing to do since she and her mother used to sing a lot on the piano. The clips that she posted showed her performing the song on the piano while singing at the same time.

She also mentioned how this makes it even more special since it was the piano that Fisher’s father gave her and as her daughter, she would like to play one of her favorite songs to her. She emphasized on the phrase “keep on moving” because that is something that she thought she should do despite her mother passing.

Lourd also talked about how she hopes this post actually encourage other people who are feeling down or lost in their lives after losing someone, that they must keep on moving. “As my Momby once said, ‘take your heart and turn it into art’ – whatever that art may be for you.”

The Force Is Still With Her

Her daughter isn’t the only one giving her tribute thing, because her Star Wars family has also decided to honor the late actress. Fisher had been a part of not just one, but five films in the franchise over the last four decades, making her one of the most important casts of the films.

She portrayed the roles of Princess Leia Organa, which is one of those characters wherein it shows a powerful woman and not just a damsel in distress just because she was a princess. This is one of the major reasons why the fandom totally misses her and no one could definitely replace her on portraying the role.

In fact, she still has a part in the Star Wars sequel trilogy in the Star Wars: Episode XI. It was even announced earlier this year that they will be using some unseen footages of her from the Force Awakens as well as in The Last Jedi. However, they didn’t exactly reveal how big her part is in the upcoming film. They paid tribute to her via Star Wars twitter accounts when they remembered the late actress.

The actress died in 2016 after suffering from a heart attack at the age of 60. She was on a flight from London and she was removed from the flight and rushed to the hospital. Fisher died after four days of being admitted. Tests from the autopsy showed that the actress had cocaine in her system, as well as some amounts of heroin and ecstasy.

However, the investigators revealed that they cannot actually confirm that these drugs made an impact on her heart attack. The drugs may have taken about three days before feeling unwell while she was on the plane, it was also said that she has suffered from sleep apnea.
