David Byrne Dropped by with His Bicycle on His Way to the Grocery Store
With a dress code as open to diverse interpretations as “In honor of Karl,” it’s unsurprising that many looks of the night seemed incohesive. Of course, chief among the brave people who unintentionally made things awkward is Singer-songwriter David Byrne, the frontman of the successful rock band “Talking Heads.”
He strolled into the Met Gala with a bicycle fitted with a basket and bell, showing that his long-term advocacy for bike commuting may be more than just lip service. And what better place to make such a statement than at a meeting of influential people? Still, doesn’t he look like he’s on his way to the shops?
