Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Hired a Nanny for Archie: Here’s What We Know so Far

Being a parent is not a walk in the park but being a first-time one is a whole another level. The experience surely is exciting but it can also be overwhelming, especially if you are a member of the royal family, who must attend to engagements and official duties.

Enter Meghan and Harry, who just welcomed their first son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor on May 6 and are just settling into parenthood.

Meghan Markle’s mom Doria reportedly went home

While it may be daunting for the first-time parents, they have been helped by Meghan’s mom Doria Ragland. But now that she has returned home, the Duke and the Duchess decided to get a nanny, royal reporter Katie Nicholl said. Here are things we know about the newly hired help:

Secret Identity

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge hired Maria Borrallo as a nanny

While the news about the new nanny has been circulating, the identity remains hidden from the public. Only known is that the extra help is a woman and is British-born, but the high-profile couple reportedly would like to keep other details under wraps.

However, as you would have guessed it, details about her might soon emerge. Five years ago, Kate Middleton and Prince William decided to hire Maria Borrallo, a Norland College graduate, as a live-in nanny.

Work Schedule

According to reports, the newly hired nanny will only work on weekdays, meaning Prince Harry and Meghan will still be hands-on during weekends. Plus, the mom is allegedly very attentive to Archie’s needs at night, feeding him every couple of hours – Katie pointed out that this could be the reason the 37-year-old might have looked tired during her Trooping the Colour appearance.

Non-Disclosure Agreement

Meghan and Prince Harry have become relatively successful in keeping their privacy as a family and with the nanny in place, they aren’t taking any chances as reports say they had her sign a non-disclosure agreement. This means that whatever the hired help might hear or see, she is not allowed to leak information.

Missing Baby Archie

Meghan only broke her maternity leave during the Trooping the Colour, a celebration of Queen Elizabeth II’s birthday, an all-too important event that shouldn’t be missed. It could have been the perfect opportunity for the fans to finally have another glimpse of the baby, but obviously missing at the party was Archie, who was just a month old at the time, perhaps the reason he didn’t join.

Archie Harrison didn’t attend the Trooping the Colour

While we sorely missed the seventh in line to the throne at the celebration, his mom also had a hard time leaving the baby behind. According to a source, Meghan definitely had difficulty saying goodbye to Archie but decided she couldn’t opt out of the monarch’s birthday celebration. The kid’s father also had the same experience when he left his family for a fund-raising game in Italy just a few weeks after he welcomed the boy.
