Anastasiia Lenna is well known for representing Ukraine in the 2015 Miss Grand International Beauty Pageant, where she gained social media attention when her photo started circulating after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Although it was suggested that she had enlisted in the Ukrainian army, she warned invaders that they would be shot.
Her act of bravery inspired many Ukrainians, but later, Lenna clarified that the photo was taken years ago when she was playing airsoft and that she had not joined the military. Despite this, her message of standing up for her country resonated with many, highlighting the patriotism and courage displayed by Ukrainians in the face of external aggression.
