If you think you know everything there is to know about this pop star, think again and read this article!

This singer has an army of superfans who love and know everything about her, while the rest of the world has a pretty negative perception of this young star. So, who is right? Lovers or haters? Take a look at the list of things we discovered about her, and decide for yourself.

She was named after a princess

Her parents named her after a princess from Felix the Cat – the movie.

Ariana hates homophobia

Not that she merely dislikes it, she does not understand it, and she feels that it has no place in our society. “I wasn’t raised in a household where it was considered abnormal to be gay,” she said in Sept. 2015. “So for me to meet people who use the word ‘faggot’ as an insult, with a derogatory meaning, I can’t take it. I don’t understand it. It’s so foreign to me. I was raised in a household where being gay was like, the most normal thing.”

This is more understandable when you know that her brother Frankie is gay and their entire family embraced him when he announced the fact.

“You know, my brother is gay, all of my best friends are gay. When my brother came out of the closet, it wasn’t a big deal for my family. Even my grandpa, who is like, super old-school, was like, Good for you!” she said.

She loves donuts

She loves them so much that she licks them. Seriously, in 2015, she was secretly filmed licking donuts she didn’t buy that were on display in a California donut shop. She caught some major heat for this. Of course, she apologized publicly (kind of). Would you buy those donuts if you knew Ariana was licking them? I know I wouldn’t.

She started off on Broadway

Ariana performed with Fort Lauderdale Children’s Theatre. Her first stage appearance was in 2008 with Charlotte in the musical shoulder 13. She was a huge hit there and determined to progress with a musical career ever since she was 13. No wonder she thinks 13 is her lucky number.

She became famous thanks to Nickelodeon

She was cast as Cat Valentine in a Nickelodeon show Victorious that went on to become a huge hit. From 2010 to 2013, she played in Victorious and Sam&Cat by Nickelodeon. Once Victorious ended, and due to an issue with the spin-off Sam&Cat, Grande left Nickelodeon and pursued her dream of being a music artist. Good that she did, now she has a couple of platinum albums behind her and an incredibly successful career.

She has an incredible vocal range

Her soprano has a 4-octave vocal range. She is considered to be a versatile singer with a high voice that is compared to voices of Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston. For those unaware, a normal vocal range is between 1 and 2 octaves. Singers who can cover more than that are considered super-talented. Interestingly, she never had any official vocal education. Wildly talented doesn’t even start to cover it.

Her nonna taught her how to deal with those who dislike her

When you are young and famous, you often have to endure taunts from wicked people on social networks. While some celebrities have no idea how to cope, she manages it just fine, thanks to a piece of advice from her grandmother. Through laughter, Ariana once said that people online are ‘Evil as hell,” but that doesn’t get her down, because of this conversation with her nonna.  ‘I said, ‘Nonna, how do you deal with the jealous ladies at the home where you live?” And she said, ‘I don’t blame them. I’d be jealous too.”’ Cute, right?

 She’s a nerd

Believe it or not, Ariana Grande stated that she is ‘a big ne.’ When asked what her hobbies are, she said “I love Lord of the Rings. I love Harry Potter. I love scary movies. I love dinosaurs, science, aliens, ghosts.” She also thinks that she is an old soul, and said that her ideal evening is hanging out in her PJs, singing and watching Harry Potter. Unlike her friends, Grande isn’t really a partyer, as she says that she “never really clicked with that.”
