How to Do Better With Your Fitness Resolution in 2019

Sherin Poojari, a popular fitness trainer, recently shared some tips that can help you stick with your new year resolution to get fit and maintain it. Below is a list containing some of those tips.

  1. Do Something You Like

Sherin noted that it is very important that those who aspire to get fit or lead a lifestyle they consider healthier should not make it a part of their resolutions at all. According to Sherin, making something a resolution means you detest what you do, and that would not help matters. He explained that it would not help you because it would require that you invest all the energy you have into a thing you do not like and you may end up giving up.

The better alternative would then be to totally change the thing you are currently doing and replace it with something you actually like. Rather than having a resolution for the new year, he advised that you make a promise to yourself and set out to find that thing you love which would also help you.

You may choose to go for cycling, yoga, swimming or jogging. The most important thing is that you love the activity and it doesn’t end up becoming a laborious task. In addition, it implies that you wouldn’t be needing motivation or encouragement to continue.

  1. Get tech savvy

With the launch of different devices such as polar monitors, smart watches among other devices, tracking actions and setting realistic goals have become easier. You should, therefore, take advantage of the technology you have access to.

Sherin noted that several devices allow you track the number of steps you take, the calories you have burnt and even how long you slept for and all that helps you get an actual picture of your body’s capability.

He added that one mistake on the part of several people is comparing themselves with other people, which eventually causes them to become demotivated and eventually give up. According to Sherin, reducing your water consumption, depriving yourself of sleep and overeating are habits that would hinder you from attaining your goals.

You can make use of technological devices and applications to constantly remind yourself of that and in turn prevent yourself from becoming demotivated. In addition, it would increase your self-empowerment and independence since you no longer have to wait for someone else’s opinion.

  1. Consider Competing

The fitness expert noted that this does not mean that you should quit your job to become a sport professional. It only means you should be competitive with regards to your fitness activities. That could include running in a marathon or getting involved in any cycling event.

Sherin reiterated the importance of cultivating the habit of staying healthy adding that being competitive would likely help a person get fired up even from within.  Competition usually comes with an adrenaline rush, and it serves as a different variant of motivation that would definitely bring about positive changes in your fitness endeavors.

Also, you tend to feel younger, more energetic and more passionate when you compete. It is also a good opportunity to connect with other like-minded people, attend interesting events while also opening yourself up to beneficial unexplored avenues.

Participating in those kinds of events is easier since there is always one thing or another happening weekly. The interesting part is that you do not have to be a professional before you can participate in the events. Also, the events are usually well organized offering participants a good avenue to do something different from their regular activities.

  1. Consider Going Organic

Going Organic helps you in two vital ways. Sherin explained that it is beneficial to your body as your food is clean and that would definitely pay off eventually. Also, you are staying away from harmful pesticides and chemicals, and that is important if you want to live a healthy life.

On the other hand, you are also making your contribution to the economy as you are helping start-ups while also promoting pesticide and chemical free products. As such, you should consider eating more organic and raw foods this year.
