Since her ’80s Superman sequel, the award-winning thespian had small roles leading up to the ‘00s. However, Valerie shocked her fans when she played Margo in the Mel Gibson-starrer, What Women Want. Despite her career’s upward trajectory, she has Parkinson’s Disease, a progressing brain disorder that leads to shaking, stiffness, and difficulty walking and balancing.
In 2017, her upper teeth had to be replaced by implants after the medication she was taking for her illness caused her pearly whites to fall off. Nowadays, Valerie keeps her fans updated through Instagram, recently revealing that her documentary is considered for the Oscars.
